Several projects which have been accomplished through the efforts of the Local
Government Unit of Gigaquit through the leadership of the Municipal Mayor Carlos
M. Egay were successfully inaugurated and blessed last August 29, 2012.
The events were attended by Gov. Sol F. Matugas with Board Member Mamerto Galanida and
Board Member Victor Borja; the Mayor and his Sangguniang Bayan Members, Brgy.
Captains and Brgy. Officials, teachers and LGU employees.
The inauguration and blessing ceremonies started at the Birthing Clinic located at the Municipal Health Center. The clinic was built for women where
they can deliver their babies in a safe and convenient environment with complete
facilities and friendly midwives.
The next
inaugurated was 1 unit school building with 2 classrooms in Gigaquit
Central Elementary School (GCES). The said building was sponsored by Sen. Edgardo
Angara.
After
GCES, the group proceeded to the Municipal Library. The building was built
through the effort of the LGU-Gigaquit and counter-parted by the kind and
generous members of Lumad Gigaquitnon Worldwide (LGW).
And
finally, the inspection of the construction of the Women’s Training Center. The building was funded by Gov. Sol F.
Matugas. This is being built for the women’s organization where they could
plan and create some projects to improve their
livelihood. This is being done through the leadership of Mrs. Elvira A. Egay, Federated
President of the Organization.
The day ended with a short discussion between the Governor and the Municipal Mayor, together with the SB Members, Brgy. Captains and Brgy. Officials. They exchanged inspiring
messages and different thoughts.
