The Gigaquit Center for Women’s Training and Development was successfully inaugurated and blessed last December 10, 2012. It was attended by the Provincial Governor Sol F. Matugas, Vice Governor Arturo Carlos Egay Jr. together with the Provincial Board Members, DOLE Regional Director Ofelia B. Domingo, Department Heads of the Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte, LGU Officials/ Dept. Heads and Employees, Department of Education family, Gigaquit Women’s organization and others.
Mayor Egay on his message thanked Gov. Sol for funding this
project which is aimed to improve the livelihood of the women’s organization
with the leadership of Mrs. Elvira A. Egay, Federated President of the said
organization.
Likewise, LGU received a check in the amount of 490,149.82 from
the DOLE Regional Director for the livelihood of Kawayan Farmers Agra
Cooperative (KAFACO).
