A video coverage of GIGAQUIT RIVER for “Waters of Caraga” TV Feature

Living Asia Channel as the official media partner, held the: video coverage dubbed as; “WATERS OF CARAGA” last May 12, 2009 featuring the Gigaquit River and Mangrove areas at Sitio Baoy, Brgy. San Isidro Gigaquit, SDN. It was supported by the Department of Tourism Caraga Region XIII and other group of agencies in terms of production cost and transportation expenses.

The activity sought to instill among the minds of the constituents of the town the values in preserving natural attractions potential for ecotourism activities. It also promotes the living condition of people living in the Barangays of LASICAM (Lahi, Sico-sico and Camam-onan) and giving opportunity for promotion of the “Cuyapnit Cave” as one tourist attraction of Gigaquit.

The team featured also the means of transportation related to the accessibility of the place. The particular dam site called “Baoy Dam” also functions in protecting the marines’ sanctuary by serving as the port area.

Although the tour was hampered by rain, still the urge was there for fulfilling ones mission. It ended at twilight past 4PM. Perhaps it was a great experience, the production team suggested organizing some sports that will enhance the attractiveness of the place which could be famous through tourism activities suited for the kind of attraction it has. Generally, the visiting team positively responded and appreciated the town’s good cause.
